Our Process

  • Major Appliances

    Major Appliances

    to MARR

Large appliances contain recoverable metals and getting them back into the supply chain reduces the need for new raw materials. Also, many large appliances contain refrigerants: a group of chemicals that collectively are called ozone-depleting substances. By responsibly recycling your large appliances, you ensure that any ozone-depleting substances will be handled and disposed of carefully by licensed professionals.

  • Wood Recycling

    Wood Recycling

    to Eco-Waste or Salish Soils

Recycling wood from construction and demolition waste is very important to us. Our partners have invested in both static and mobile equipment to turn wood waste into biomass used by local institutions, manufacturers and district energy producers. The recycling of wood waste into biomass extends the life of our landfill and we are in full action to keep our Sechelt landfill operational for as long as possible.

  • Drywall

    Drywall

    to Green for Life

Efficient, on-site services for non-hazardous drywall

All drywall brought to our facility must show proof of testing as we do not accept drywall without it, and neither do our suppliers. Here is a contact for local drywall and hazardous material testing, and disposal of contaminated drywall/materials:

  • Garbage

    Garbage

to Sechelt Landfill or Eco Waste ltd.

The landfill site is located on Dusty Road off of Sechelt Inlet Road, near Sechelt town centre. The local landfill is nearing its maximum capacity. Our partnerships with recyclers will help to assist in the effort to extend the life of this local landfill, ensuring all items that can be reused and recycled get to the correct place for dismantling and processing.

  • Mattresses

    Mattresses

    to Pacific Mattress Recycling

    WHY RECYCLING MATTERS
Keep Reusable Materials Out of Our Landfills

Each item that enters the mattress recycling facility is broken down into its components, such as steel, foam, and quilting, and recycled into new uses. This helps keep reusable materials out of our landfills.

  • Metal

    Metal

    to Radius Recycling

54 metals recycling facilities, including 7 shredding operations.

As one of North America's largest metals recyclers, Radius facilities acquire, process, and recycle millions of tonnes of ferrous metals and hundreds of millions of pounds of nonferrous metals every single year. These recycled metals go almost everywhere, representing critical feedstock in the global manufacturing and building economy; just some of their uses include supporting production of bridges, buildings, cars, public transit and passenger rail systems; appliances, as well as more metal-intensive technologies, such as wind turbines, hydropower dams, advanced battery storage systems, upgraded electricity lines and electric vehicle charging stations, new broadband and reliable high-speed internet technology, and data centers. Like we said, kind of everywhere.

  • Paint

    Paint

    to ProductCare Recycling

Product Care Recycling is an industry-led organization working to protect the environment by providing recycling services for post-consumer paint, household hazardous waste, lights, and alarms.

Product Care Recycling diverts post-consumer products from Canada’s landfills and waterways, ensuring they are managed responsibly at their end-of-life.

This organization is a federally incorporated not-for-profit organization, and provides recycling services across nine Canadian provinces. Product Care Recycling encourages individuals and businesses to reduce their waste and reuse when possible, as well as provides recycling solutions for post-consumer products.

  • Tires

    Tires

    to BC Tire Stewardship

Every tire can be recycled! Join us on the path to a clean Sunshine Coast.

Every tire on the road has another life available to it once the treads have worn down. Athletic tracks; playground surfaces; recreational flooring; mats and flooring for farms and factories; additives for rubberized asphalt; even landscaping mulch can be made from recycled tires. In BC, unlike some other provinces, all scrap tires collected are re-purposed. The majority of BC’s scrap tires are recycled by Western Rubber Products into fine granules of rubber (crumb rubber) for sale to a variety of markets in BC, the rest of Canada, and the US. This crumb rubber is used to create the flooring and other surfaces mentioned above.

  • Asphalt Roofing

    Asphalt Roofing

    to Empower

Empowering our future through sustainable shingle material recovery.

Empower Environmental Solutions mission is to be the leading shingle material recovery provider in North America, extracting 99% of the recovered components from single-use asphalt shingles that would otherwise be sent to a landfill. Empower’s clean technology solution is expected to have a significant impact on the environment by reducing landfill usage, reducing the CO2 impact of asphalt, fibre and aggregate production, and contributing to the "circular economy".
